The crazy thing with rally, is when you watch the crash videos, you say “yep, that’s exactly what I thought would happen.”

It’s when you watch videos like this, where these absolute madmen are going just as fast, but keeping it rubber side down, that  you are truly blown away.

Judging by the trajectories, those Hyundai i20s either need more front down force, or less rear. Makes for exciting jumps though...

Sometimes when I get some sideways in my WRX I feel like a bit of a hero and that I’d love to give rally racing a try. It’s videos like these that remind me that that is not the case and that I’d absolutely kill myself if I tried to drive these roads at anywhere near the speed these guys do.

I still wanna try though. I had been planning to book a trip to Team O’Neil or Dirtfish this year but that’s gonna have to wait until this Corona thing buggers off now.

Also, I love how many of these include slides that would’ve been utterly unrecoverable if the drivers hadn’t keep their foot in it. I’ve experienced that a few times now (awd ftw) and, unlike the pros who keep on flying, I usually take it as a sign that I’ve pushed my luck enough for that day and drive calmly home.
